Stylish NEW Sewing Patterns by Jamie Christina

So many of us sew for our children and forget about ourselves and how good it feels to make something for yourself that is a little different to the stock-standard me-too clothing available from many department and chain stores.

I have great pleasure in introducing to our store and Australia the beautiful stylish contemporary sewing patterns by Jamie Christina. I continue to search for ladies patterns that allow the beautiful unique fabrics available today to 'shine' and Jamie Christina sewing patterns certainly 'fit the bill'!

Jamie's latest pattern above, the 'Sunny Day Dress & Skirt' looks divine made up in Nani Iro as on the cover but would look fabulous in any unique light - medium weight fabric for summer. If you are looking for a lovely fabric for a dress or top why not shop our newly created 'dress category'.

The 'Honey Girl Sundress & Top' would make another fabulous addition to the summer wardrobe and there are some great variations with this pattern like sleeveless or adding shoulder straps, with or without ruffle, big buttons or small buttons, and of course your choice of either a dress or top.

Take a look at some of the gorgeous pieces Jamie Christina has sewn from her exquisite patterns using Echino & Nani Iro fabrics below for a little more summer inspiration!

Jamie also has a beautiful 'Pretty Ditty Apron' pattern that you may just want to wear to pick the kids up from school!

not to mention an awesome hooded scarf to brave those cold mornings...

Jamie's patterns present great value for money as they are beautifully presented and written with concise instructions as well as detailed illustrations for you to easily follow.

I hope that you are inspired to create something for yourself very soon and I await the next addition to Jamie Christina's sewing patterns in anticipation.

Of course you can jazz them up if that is your preference! There is something for everyone in this range, childrenswear for girls & boys, patterns for women, and the Mei Tai - a gorgeous and very practical and cozy baby carrier!

NEW Make It Perfect Patterns

Australian pattern designer Toni Coward has just released a brand new range of Make It Perfect patterns that are bound to be just as popular as her first!

I am so pleased that Toni is extending her women's range with the Summer Fling gorgeous top and I have a feeling there will be more to come. I recently met the lovely Toni and she was wearing one of her versatile wrap skirts made up in Heather Bailey fabric which looked sensational on her and I have had so many others comment that they have been enjoying sewing and wearing this flattering skirt too! Please keep your feedback coming on the patterns I stock as I have been loving receiving the feedback and your images for the Kelani Inspiration Gallery too.

Dress the Summer Fling up with a skirt or pants or just wear casually with denim. This top features a soft gathered neckline and is a relaxed-fit for comfort. Tie the sash under your bust for a fitted look or remove the sash, the choice is yours.

The Bloom tunic and short set is just adorable with the shorts featuring fabric-covered buttons and cute little pockets. Another versatile pattern that can be worn as a set or separately.

Toni has also catered well for the boys and added great value with this beaut Little Explorer pattern that features an organic turtle applique design, relaxed shorts with side pockets and easy-wear overalls with button closure.

The Lazy Day Hat pattern has sizing for the whole family. Again, another versatile pattern with it being totally reversible providing two stylish hats in one.

Take a look at the Toni Coward 'Make It Perfect' clothing range here. I would just love to see some of the end results of your sewing with these patterns so please forward any images to gallery@kelanifabric.com.au and be in the running for our monthly gift voucher prize or make as a gift for Xmas and enter our Its a Handmade Christmas competition detailed in my last post. I am currently putting together a surprise pack with some fabulous goodies from our store + more!!

Pink Fig Patterns

Kelani is particularly proud to be the first in Australia to stock Chelsea Anderson's Pink Fig children's patterns!

Chelsea's latest pattern is 'the Patchwork skirt & t-shirt' featured below which includes the pattern for the skirt and embellished t-shirt. This skirt is terrific for so many of us that have difficulty in choosing from so many beautiful fabrics. Mix and match colours from the one designer or co-ordinating themes and colours from many designers.

If you would like to learn the art of applique and embellishment or play around with creating your own words on fabric using your computer Chelsea Anderson's 'Embellished' book here is packed with fantastic instructions as well as lots of other great ideas!

With the help of the 'Embellished' book learn how to create unique words on fabric like the 'vintage' on the t-shirt above using your home computer. Along with the lovely photographs, the Pink Fig website also has a fantastic shirring and gathering tutorial.

This skirt in Shannon Lamden's adorable 'cookies' fabric was made using this pattern.

If you are one of the many customers that have purchased any of the Pink Fig pattern range why not leave your comments on the patterns and please feel free to email some of your pics as we would love to see and add them to our inspiration gallery!
