Staircase Creativity

Anna sent me a lovely photograph of her staircase. By simply stretching a piece of Lara Cameron's gorgeous 'Flowing Dots' in Raspberry over a canvas, Anna has added some life to this area of her home. Lara's fabric works really well with the white walls and timber balustrade and handrails and I love how the canvas was hung high on the wall. Thanks Anna!

The beauty of Lara Cameron's 'Flowing Dots' is that the pattern looks lovely in any direction used for any application.

What a week -Thank you All!!

It has been a very busy opening week here at Kelani Fabric! I must say I am overwhelmed by the fantastic response and feedback the shop has had from sooo many lovely people. To all of you that have commented, provided invaluable feedback and purchased goodies from the shop, thank you and I hope you have been happy with your purchases and the service provided!

Please pop in again and feel free to comment on any of my posts as I would love to hear from you. Please also have a look at our 'handmade inspiration gallery' as we would love to share some of our customer's handmade works and possibly assist with some of our customers' creative businesses.

There has been a fantastic response to the amazing Australian designers and the 'exclusive' colourways Kelani has put together with their assistance. I would like to thank Shannon and Lara in particular for allowing me to play with their colours and beautiful designs and allowing me to put this unique idea for my shop into action! I hope to bring many more beautiful hand screen printed Australian designers fabrics into the shop very soon with more 'exclusive colourways' to come! It has been lovely to see so many customers supporting Australian design this week and I hope this continues as Kelani begins to stock more and more.

The shop has been so busy that I am working on a fantastic competition that I will post about soon!

If you haven't already, please have a look at Sydney textile designer Saffron Craig's adorable contemporary hand screen printed panels perfect for so many craft, sewing & home decorating projects such as softies, bags, cushions and quilts.

The beautiful quilt shown above, the talented Saffron made herself using a combination of this panel and others in her collection. More of Saffron Craig's designs coming very soon!

Welcome!

Hello and welcome to the personal extension to my online fabric shop....the Kelani Fabric Blog! This will be my one and only long post!!!!!!! Too much to say!!!!!

I would really like the Kelani blog to be a type of 'Inspiration Board' for fellow crafters, home decorators and sewers. It is here that I would like to connect and get to know other crafters and share craftiness, whether it be sharing a photo of my own craft or from my customer handmade inspiration gallery, an interview with a crafter or textile designer or post a tutorial or 'how to'. I welcome all reader's comments and suggestions.

I will also be running regular competitions to showcase customer's hand-made works, as I would love for this blog, and for Kelani Fabrics, to be a place of inspiration for all crafters and lovers of hand-made.

A little more about the
shop..... Kelani Fabric offers a large range of contemporary modern fabrics suitable for home decorating, children's decor as well as crafting and sewing projects. Along with designer fabrics from around the world, Kelani Fabric is particularly proud to stock a lovely range of unique and wonderful hand screen printed fabrics from Australian designers. Our aim is to support Australian talent and increase the Australian designer range even further in the near future.

Over the next few days I will be posting details of
current exclusive colourways from Australian textile designer's Shannon Lamden and Lara Cameron, as well as an exciting new range of children's patterns by Pink Fig! I will also be posting details about our first competition!
Please take a look at the shop, which I am proud to say after months of development is up and running with a fantastic 20% off everything opening special!
